Jeremy Samuel Piven is an American actor who rose to fame for his role as Ari Gold in the comedy series Entourage, for which he won a Golden Globe Award and three consecutive Emmy Awards.

Jeremy Piven is the son of Byrne Piven and Joyce Piven.

Jeremy’s father Byrne Piven was an American stage actor, director, and co-founder of the Playwrights Theatre Club, a forerunner of The Second City.

He was born on September 24, 1929, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States.

He move to Chicago in 1954 and where he met Joyce Hiller at the University of Chicago. They were married a short time later.

In the 1950s, the Pivens were two of the founding members of the Playwrights Theatre Club, along with Paul Sills and David Shepard.

Piven was a standby for both Louis Hayward (King Arthur) and Christopher Carey (Mordred) in the national tour of Camelot.

Byrne Piven died on February 18, 2002, in Evanston, Illinois, United States.

Jeremy’s mother Joyce Hiller Piven is an American director, teacher, and actress. She and her late husband, Byrne Piven, were actors in the Compass Players.

She was born on February 21, 1930, United States, and was educated at the University of Chicago.
